She completed her BC and MSc degrees in Food Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. She worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Food Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. She was an exchange student in Nantes, France. She received her Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from the University of the Balearic Islands, Palma de Mallorca, Spain. She worked as a lecturer at Near East University, in Nicosia, TRNC. Her teaching and research interests include topics in functional foods, nutrition and gastronomy.
